Round of 12 million for the start-up of policies against technological risks

Insurtech is the identification of a world that is changing at a dizzying pace. From simple management software and applications, to the definition of new scenarios that will change and add new horizons to insurance risks, thanks to technological innovation and scientific progress.

Identifying new strategies and business models in the insurtech field – understanding what will happen, studying and playing in advance – is the mission of the start-up Wallife, founded in 2020 by Fabio Sbianchi – former founder of Octo Telematics, the largest global data database telematics in an insurance function – and Maria Enrica Angelone: a company looking for answers on safety and protection from risks still largely unknown and unpredictable.

An intuition, that of investigating the risks of innovations that could interfere with our daily activities – represents an element that identifies Wallife as a pioneer in insurance markets that are still little explored, but with great potential.

The areas of interest of the Roman insurtech include complex and still evolving scenarios, such as genetic manipulation (e.g. the conservation of biological material and genetic identity), biohacking (the use of technologies within the human body, such as prostheses and implantable medical devices) and the use of digital data (such as fingerprints and facial recognition).

A complex scenario that requires investigating new and emerging risks (such as the theft of DNA, or hacking of biomedical data) and, subsequently, to develop innovative insurance products, also for existing risks, which have not been covered so far. from traditional insurance (such as the violation of digital identity).
