The Ministry of Health has taken swift action to remove several batches of eggs from supermarkets following an alert for the presence of salmonella. A total of 24 batches of eggs have been recalled after the confirmation of salmonella, and it is crucial for consumers to be aware of these affected lots to avoid potential health risks.
The affected lots, which are sold in packs of 6 or 10 and in cartons of 180, 200 or 360 eggs, are to be returned to the point of sale immediately. If you have purchased eggs from these batches, it is strictly prohibited to consume them. Consumers are advised to return the eggs to the point of purchase and request a replacement or a full refund. The affected lot numbers include 34101, 34201, 34301, 34401, 34501, 34601, 34701, 34801, 34901, 35001, 35101, 35201, 35301, 35401, 35501, 35601, 357 01, 35801, 35901, 36001, 36101, 36201, and 36301.
Salmonella, a common gastrointestinal infection, is often contracted through contaminated foods, particularly eggs and pork.
