Sanremo. He is the psychologist and psychiatrist Giovanni Sciolè the new director of the integrated department of mental health and pathological addictions of theAsl1 Imperiese. The appointment, wanted by the general manager Silvio Falco, operational since January 1st, brings the well-known psychiatrist from Sanremo to the head of a department reorganized and extended to psychology (headed by Dr. Roberto Ravera) and child neuropsychiatry (primary Giuseppe Pili).
The appointment comes following the retirement of the current director of the mental health department, Dr. Giancarlo Ardissone. For 15 years, head of the complex structure in Asl1, the new department director has been working for 35 years in the province of Imperia. Mental health includes three centers in Bordighera (before it was in Ventimiglia), in Sanremo in via Privata Scoglio and in Diano Marina. In these 35 years of service, Sciolè has also taken care of Hard, engaged not only in the treatment of alcohol and drug abuse but also gambling.
At the center of the activity of the Psychiatrist department, Dr. Sciolè wants to include the mental problems of young people and migrants. Also on the table is a forensic psychiatry project aimed at patient offenders. Another upcoming working group will be linked to Covid. In the mental health department there has long been a severe shortage of staff that the ASL hopes to be able to fill through the recently announced competition for the coverage of nine open positions.
