TRENTO. Giulia Berloffa, born in 1980, primary care physician in Trento, is the new director of the specific training school in general medicine in Trento. The appointment was made by Provincial coordination committee, composed of the general manager of the health and social policies department of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Giancarlo Ruscitti, by the general manager of the provincial health services company Pier Paolo Benetollo, by the delegate of the Trentino Order of Surgeons and Dentists and by the delegate of the general secretary of the Bruno Kessler Foundation.
The appointment for Berloffa, the first female director of the School of specific training in general medicine, runs from 1 July 2021 for five years.
A wish for good work for the important task assigned, aimed in particular at the training and professional growth of general practitioners operating throughout Trentino, was expressed by the provincial councilor for Health Stefania Segnana, who also thanked the current director Mauro Larcher: “I express satisfaction with this appointment, which represents a further recognition of the skills of Trentino health professionals and the great contribution of women in all professional spheres of Trentino. General medicine – added Segnana – is one of the cornerstones of healthcare in our area. We know how much training and updating, including technological ones, are fundamental for a service to citizens that is as effective and attentive as possible. The role of this important medical figure, the first point of reference for the patient in the area, will only grow in the future. I therefore wish Dr. Giulia Berloffa good work, I am sure that there will be a fruitful collaboration with the department and Apss. At the same time, I want to thank Dr. Larcher for the commitment shown in the direction of the School, his contribution was appreciated “.
Words associated with the Coordination Committee, which expressed gratitude for the remarkable and qualified work guaranteed by the outgoing director in the last six years, also recognized by extra-provincial institutions.
There are numerous challenges that the School will have to face in the coming months. First of all, the lack of general practitioners, due to retirements, present throughout Italy as in Trentino and the need to develop new organizational forms of general medicine with attention to multi-professionalism and integrated activity as well as new technologies should be considered.
