The spectacular fall of Norwegian champion Aleksander Kilde in Saturday’s downhill run in Wengen had less serious consequences than feared. Kilde, 31 years old and a World Cup winner, did not suffer any fractures but a dislocated shoulder as well as a cut to his calf and several bruises. He underwent surgery last night in Bern, the Norwegian Federsci announced. It is not yet known when he will return to competition.
