Gathering plants to feed is a practice that has always accompanied man: in the mid-1700s the botanist Giovanni Targioni Tozzetti he coined the term “alimurgia” to indicate the science that studies the alimentary use of edible spontaneous plants, even in times of poverty and famine. Today, however, we speak of “foraging”; which literally means “foraging”, looking for food in nature, as animals do.
