One of the most obvious and devastating consequences of aging is the decline of cognitive faculties, especially memory. However, there are elderly people who maintain a formidable memory and clearly remember their entire lives: they are defined superagers.

Episodic or long-term memory is the type of memory that allows us to remember events that occurred many years before, this type of memory is more affected by aging, in fact the elderly tend to forget facts and people from the past.
