The Clubhouse app for Android arrives by May

by admin

Clubhouse for Android could arrive within the next month. The developers of the port for the world‘s most popular mobile operating system shared the timeline with a post on Twitter. The date, they specify, is indicative and could therefore undergo variations.

In January, Clubhouse had confirmed the expansion program to Android, although the work had not yet started. At the beginning of March, during the first stage of the Clubhouse World Tour, held with the Italian members, the official launch of the development, through the words of the two co-founders Paul Davison and Rohan Seth. The development of the Android app, which has been underway for a few weeks, should be completed by the end of April, with a global launch by May. Coupled with the Android version, Clubhouse could eliminate the need to get an invitation to enter, thus opening up access opportunities for everyone. This, according to experts, should be a way to rekindle interest in a social network that, after a successful global launch, seems to have halted its growth. However, according to the latest statistics from February 2021, Clubhouse has surpassed 8 million global downloads, despite being still in beta and only on iPhone and iPad.

But the competition does not stand by: Twitter has launched Spaces, as a trial version, as has Facebook, which is experimenting with the Hotline platform, similar to Clubhouse but with the addition of video mode. Telegram also tries to follow the social audio trend with voice rooms to be started within groups, with the advantage of anonymity and encryption, which have always distinguished the app’s chats.
