Cuore di Donna Cardiology Screenings Moved Due to Strong Wind

Due to strong wind conditions, the “Cuore di Donna” cardiology screening event, organized by the ODV Health and Safety association in collaboration with “SerCorato” and the Wellness Evolution – Scaringella family, has been relocated to Via Avezzana in Corato. Originally scheduled to take place in Piazza Cesare Battisti, the event will now be held in front of the Carabinieri barracks on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 9am to 12pm and from 4pm to 6pm.

The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Corato and the ASL Bari, aims to provide free cardiological screenings for women to recognize and prevent cardiovascular diseases. According to the association, common risk factors for cardiovascular diseases include age, sex, family history, and lifestyle choices such as smoking, alcohol consumption, poor diet, and sedentary behavior.

Dr. Maria A. Ceglia, medical director of the Umberto I hospital in Corato, will lead the prevention screening for women aged between 40 and 65, which will include blood pressure measurement, anamnestic questionnaire, and a specialist cardiological examination with an electrocardiogram.

Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Italy, with ischemic heart disease and cerebrovascular accidents responsible for a significant portion of deaths. The screening event aims to raise awareness among women about these risks and provide early detection and prevention opportunities.

The event will take place as scheduled on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the new location on Via Avezzana. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this free opportunity to prioritize their heart health and well-being.
