In a press conference, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized that tackling addiction is a top priority for the government, highlighting the importance of supporting recovery communities and reintegrating those affected by addictions back into society. The government is also prepared to make agreements with the United Nations and China to combat the spread of synthetic drugs, including fentanyl.
One of the main channels for the distribution of fentanyl is the darkweb, where the drug can be easily obtained from Chinese websites. The government is focusing on monitoring the internet and cracking down on online drug trafficking to prevent the further spread of fentanyl. Parents, families, and individuals are urged to be vigilant, as fentanyl can be disguised under different names such as ‘chinewhite’.
