The issue of territorial general medicine is one of the most discussed issues in this last period: protests on this front had arrived in the Municipality of Godega di Sant’Urbano, with reports also relating to the situation of San Fior.

“There have been many controversies and things said in recent months, I think I have to give some clarifications to my citizens – says Zanchetta -. In 2015, the year in which the facility was inaugurated, it boasted eight doctors who served patients in the municipalities of Codognè and Gaiarine ”.
“Today there are four doctors left, plus a fifth who recently decided to practice only in his own clinic – keep it going -. Of these, two are recently in charge and, albeit with good will and professionalism, they need time to get to know their clients “.
Compared to when Group Medicine started, according to the mayor, today there are at least two factors that aggravate the situation: “The halving of doctors and the greater and legitimate needs of patients due to Covid. It absolutely does not want to be an excuse, but the administration’s competence only concerns the premises (which are currently owned by the Municipality of Codognè) and not the management“.
“I do not deny that there are inefficiencies, I am aware of it – says Zanchetta -, as it is undeniable that I have never refrained from reporting the requests received, even though I am aware that the situation is difficult to resolve as the main issue is the lack of doctors “.
“If there is one certainty, it is that the solution is not immediate. In the meantime, the invitation that I feel I can make, in a truly heartfelt way, is for a greater understanding of the existing difficulties, which would certainly help doctors to carry out their work in a more relaxed and serene atmosphere, and this would be to the advantage of all ”concludes the mayor.
