The heat is increasing, today and tomorrow 8 red dot cities, Thursday 10 – Health

The heat is increasing and at the same time the number of red dot cities is growing. Today there are 8 urban centers marked with the highest level of health risk due to the heat, tomorrow they will be the same number (with two cities leaving the list and another 2 returning) and Thursday they will become 10. This is what we read in the bulletin on heat waves from the Ministry of Health which takes into consideration 27 Italian cities.

The cities now with a red dot are Bolzano, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Perugia, Rieti, Rome, Turin. Tomorrow 8 cities will be again, with the ‘new entries’ Bologna and Viterbo, while Bolzano and Turin leave the list of hottest centers and turn yellow (pre-alert status for a possible heat wave, level 1 on a scale from 1 to 3). On Thursday the red dots will rise to 10, following the entries of Campobasso and breaking latest news on the hot list.

As for the orange dots, which indicate the health risk for the most vulnerable segment of the population, i.e. the elderly, children and those with chronic diseases, today 8 cities have them (Ancona, Bologna, Brescia, Campobasso, Milan, breaking latest news, Verona and Viterbo) tomorrow their number will drop to 5 (Ancona, Bari, Campobasso, breaking latest news and Trieste), and Thursday to 4 (Bari, Catania, Messina and Palermo). Green cities disappear from the heat wave bulletin (no heat wave risk).
