The first man to undergo a genetically modified pig kidney transplant died two months after surgery. The hospital said it had no indication that the transplant was the cause. The Guardian reports it.
Richard āRickā Slayman, 62, had undergone the pig kidney implant at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Surgeons had said they believed the organ would last at least two years. Yesterday, his family and the hospital confirmed Slaymanās death.
