The lockdowns seem to move away, life, even if between vaccines and greenpass, seems to resume its usual forms and the time to play sports is back. This is the simple but heartfelt message of the new initiatives put in place by the municipality of Varese with the collaboration of the city gyms and sports associations.
The initiatives of the municipal administration are in two directions: “A first initiative is aimed at making sports facilities free for the 2021/2022 season – explains the mayor Davide Galimberti – First of all to help citizens to return to sports, then to facilitate the restart of the activities of sports associations with a reduction of their fixed costs. We will support it with an advertising campaign in the city to “convince” the people of Varese to go back to being active “
The goal of the campaign, which bears the title “Take care of yourself”, is to give support to many realities that have been stopped for several months due to the health crisis, but not only. We also want to encourage the resumption of motor activity in general, for the health and well-being of all. Present at the conference, in addition to the Mayor Galimberti, some of the representatives of gyms and sports realities of the city: Fabio Sozzani (Sporting 2000), Cristina Ciavarrella (Life Wellness), Claudio Castiglione (Olympus fitness), Katia Franciscani e Giovanni Gandini. “This campaign has the merit of underlining how movement and sports practice are in all respects an integral part of everyone’s life and psychophysical well-being,” explained Sozzani.
“A study before the Pandemic had already quantified 88,000 people a year deaths from physical inactivity, now the situation has worsened – he explains Giovanni Gandini – Upon returning after the lockdown, the average number of children who return to sports cannot run more than two minutes in a row. A stop whose effects will be felt for months or years ».
FREE FOR ASSOCIATIONS THAT PLAY SPORTS IN THE MUNICIPAL FACILITIES
An extraordinary provision instead provides for free for all those realities and associations that organize sports within municipal facilities: therefore no fee for the year 2021 and for the entire 2021/2022 season. A measure worth over 180 thousand euros, to which is added the other important support given by the reduction of the Tari for companies, which will also benefit the structures.
According to the provision, the management of sports facilities is not only guaranteed: for facilities managed through an organic concession contract, such as the Municipal Swimming Pool in via Copelli, the Tennis Le Bettole, the Dardodromo in via Valleluna and the Rugby Field, it will also be expanded the duration of the concessions and the rent has been redetermined to ensure that they can be re-established at an economic and financial level.
For facilities managed in other ways, such as the local sports fields, the Athletics School Field, the Valleluna Beach Volleyball, the School Gyms, there will be a free concession from January 2021 and for the entire 2021/22 season.
