Within a page that Google has dedicated to the Android App Bundle, the company has showcased all the advantages which will lead to the choice of this solution. Among the positive aspects is certainly the fact that the apps will take up less space, but there will also be a big one negative side. As the Android App Bundle format is used only by the Google Play Store, the redistribution of apps will be much more complicated.

L’obligation to use the Android App Bundle format will only be applied to new applications. Google has in fact stated that “Existing apps are currently exempt, as are private apps that are published to managed users of Google Play”.
