Michelle, Giulia, Riccardo and many other little patients at the Bambino Gesù hospital in Rome. They are the protagonists of the docu-series Doctors on the wardbroadcast on Rai3 starting from February 19th. The programme, now in the second part of its sixth season, brings to television cases of high and medium medical complexity born within the renowned Roman structure.
The stories of the little ones on the screen: from hospitalization to recovery
Every Monday at 11.15pm, for six weeks, a new episode. At the center of the story are the dramas and victories of the young patients that take place inside the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital. The cameras film the children hospitalized from the beginning of therapy until discharge. There are those waiting for a heart transplant, those who suffer from severe scoliosis and those who live with a malformation they were born with: the lack of the right ear and the auricle.

The presenter accompanies parents and medical staff with hers extraordinary sensitivity: at the center are the little patients who face challenges and operations with determination and courage.

To the docu-series Doctors on the ward it does not only aim to investigate the effects of the disease in the daily lives of children and their families. It is the recognition of the extraordinary dignity of patients even in the most delicate and compromised situations of hospitalization. And a way to not make those who face these problems feel alone therapeutic paths long and often very complex.
