The silent enemy that could harm the health of those with tattoos, but it’s not disposable needles

Tattoos have been in fashion for many years now. They can be the memory of an important event, a symbol with a special value, the name of a person you love, etc.
As reported in the journal Focus, a team of German scientists and the ESRF, the European Syncroton of Grenoble, published in the journal Scientific Reports Nature, the possible risks not yet investigated, which can involve a tattoo.

The silent enemy that could harm the health of those with tattoos, but it’s not disposable needles. Which could be?
In simple terms, the substances that are contained in tattoo ink travel through our body, in the form of micro and nano particles. ā€œIt was the first time their journey was photographed and analyzed by the team of scientistsā€.
These state that those who undergo tattoos must pay attention not only to the choice of highly professional centers and the use of sterile disposable needles. Not only that, but also to the chemical composition of the ink used.

Unfortunately, even today, little is known about the possible danger of the chemicals that make up the inks used. Generally they are almost all composed of natural substances but some also of chemical elements and contaminants such as: chromium, nickel, cobalt.
Scholars are already partially aware of the fact that the pigments of tattoos manage to reach and deposit in the lymph nodes by traveling in the form of micro particles.

Recently, however, powerful microscopes that use the light of the European ESRF synchrotron have highlighted the existence of infinitesimal particles called nano particles.

For the moment there is no clarity on what this could mean for the health of the organism. For the moment the only risk that has been ascertained is the possibility of a slight swelling of the lymph nodes which usually resolves on its own. If this does not happen and we are talking about chronicity, then we could be faced with possible changes in the immune system.
The ink particles would penetrate the lymphatic system and can probably reach various organs, but the consequences are not yet known but will be the subject of future studies.
