A widespread popular rumor claims that eggs cannot be eaten during an antibiotic treatment. This statement is disproved by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, which points out that this is true only when taking sulfonamide antibiotics.

In fact, there is no scientific evidence that the egg would compromise the treatment with antibiotics. The speech, however, changes if you take sulfonamides. These are synthetic antibiotics that act on many bacteria.

In this case, it may be inadvisable not to eat eggs, as some components could bind to sulfonamides in the intestine and limit their absorption. That is why those who take these drugs should not eat eggs in order not to compromise the cure.

Also pay attention to grapefruit juice and chocolate

A drink that may counteract the effect of some medications is grapefruit juice. It is not recommended to consume it in combination with drugs such as buspirone, triazolam, antihistamines and others. Even chocolate that contains caffeine can interfere, for example, with stimulants, such as methylphenidate, increasing their effect, but the cases would not be over.
