Medical Student Becomes Brain Dead After Friends Play Deadly Prank
Christopher Gilbert, a 26-year-old medical student, is fighting for his life after a prank gone wrong left him brain dead. The tragedy occurred on April 14 at Lake D’Arbonne in Farmerville, Los Angeles, California when his classmates threw him into the water knowing he couldn’t swim.
What started as a day of fun with friends quickly turned into a nightmare for Gilbert’s family. Witnesses say he struggled in the water for 10 minutes while his friends watched without intervening. It wasn’t until a man from a nearby restaurant jumped in to save Gilbert that he was pulled out, but it was too late.
Doctors at the local hospital diagnosed Gilbert as brain dead upon arrival. Despite undergoing intensive medical treatments including “dialysis for the lungs,” his condition remains critical. Authorities revealed that Gilbert’s friends initially tried to downplay the incident as mere “horseplay,” but the truth came out when one friend confessed to pushing him into the lake, unaware of his inability to swim.
Gilbert’s mother, Yolanda George, is heartbroken by the situation and the negligence of her son’s friends. Speaking to local media, she expressed her disbelief at their cruelty. As Christopher continues to fight for his life, the community waits anxiously for any news of his condition.
