Tumor treatment, the best hospitals in Veneto and Italy

The updated map ā€œWhere do I get treatment?ā€, presented by ROPI (Rete Oncologica Pazienti Italia) to the Ministry of Health, evaluates hospitals in Italy according to their performance in oncological surgeries and the quality of treatment paths. The map, using data from the Agenas National Outcomes Programme, aims to guide patients in making informed decisions about their healthcare.

In Veneto, the top hospitals for cancer treatment include the Veneto Oncology Institute IRCCS ā€“ IOV in Padova, IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria Hospital in Negrar, and Veneto Oncology Institute IRCCS ā€“ IOV in Castelfranco Veneto. These hospitals are recognized for their excellence in treating specific types of cancer, offering specialized and advanced oncology care.

Across Italy, hospitals like the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, IRCCS Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano, and the National Cancer Institute in Milan are known for their high volumes of oncological surgeries and quality of treatment paths. These facilities have been certified by the OECI for their excellence in providing cancer care.

Stefania Gori, President of ROPI and AIGOM, emphasizes the importance of considering both the volume of interventions and the quality of care when choosing a healthcare facility for oncology surgery. The goal of the map is to help patients and their families make informed decisions about their treatment options, ensuring they receive the best possible care for their condition.
