UDD Sets New Record with Highest Cut-Off Score in Medicine Admission

UDD Achieves Historic Cut-off Score in Medicine, the Highest Nationally

The German Faculty of Clinical Medicine at Universidad del Desarrollo has achieved a historic milestone by reaching a cut-off score of 951.6 points in the Medicine degree in the 2024 Admission process. This is almost 15 points higher than in 2023 and marks the best result that a private university has obtained in the history of the Single Admission System, surpassing traditional universities in this field for the first time.

Dr. Marcela Castillo, the dean of UDD Medicine, commented, “This result is a source of pride for the University and reflects the commitment, dedication, and effort of the entire academic community. Teamwork, track record, renewed curriculum, and vision for the future are some of the key aspects that we believe have contributed to attracting the best students. For us, it is a motivation to continue our work and continue growing as one of the best medical schools in the country.”

Dr. Mariana Jadue, the director of the Medicine degree, also emphasized that this milestone is a reflection of confidence in the Faculty’s educational approach. “This reaffirms our commitment to working tirelessly to live up to the expectations and trust placed in this project. We receive it with enthusiasm, humility, and responsibility. The achievement is undoubtedly not individual, but rather a collective recognition of academic excellence and the vision of the future that the Universidad del Desarrollo promotes as an institution.”

The collaboration of the Faculty’s strategic partners, such as the Clínica Alemana, the Padre Hurtado Hospital, and all the clinical fields that play a fundamental role in the training of students in the area of health, was also recognized as a contributing factor to this historic achievement.
