In a disturbing case, Parts of the body of a newborn baby were found in the Pringamozal neighborhood of Barrancas, La Guajira, on Wednesday night. A resident alerted authorities when she noticed that a dog was carrying the baby’s leg in its mouth.
According to the Barrancas Police Department report, it is suspected that a woman had an abortion and abandoned the baby in a garbage bag, where the animals dismembered the body. Colonel Diego Édison Montaña indicated that the investigation seeks to clarify the causes and determine the identity of the mother.
The version of residents of the area suggests that a Venezuelan woman, possibly with other children, could have abandoned the baby behind Mount Albernia School. If confirmed, the minors in their care could be handed over to the Family Welfare Institute.
The body of the minor was left in charge of the members of the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences to establish the exact causes of death.
