University Council Annuls Admission Exam for Human Medicine Amid Fraud Allegations: New Exam Scheduled

The National University of Piura is facing allegations of fraud in the recent admission exam for the Faculty of Human Medicine. The exam, part of the General Exam 2024, was annulled due to suspicions of irregularities after several candidates reportedly made identical errors in two specific questions.

In response to these concerns, the University Council has scheduled a new admission exam for Human Medicine on May 25, at no additional cost to the 921 enrolled students. The goal is to fill twenty available vacancies in the program.

Humberto Correa CƔnova, president of the Central Admission Commission, announced the decision to cancel the exam and initiate a police investigation to gather more evidence of the alleged fraud. The Commission has also hired a security company to ensure a fair exam environment for the upcoming test.

The University Council emphasized that the cancellation was necessary to uphold the integrity of the admissions process and prevent harm to the applicants. The decision has been communicated through social networks, and the matter has been reported to the Public Ministry.

The Faculty of Human Medicine at the National University of Piura experienced a unique situation with eight applicants achieving the same top score in the admission exam. This unprecedented event raised suspicion and led to the cancellation of the exam, with further investigations underway to address the alleged fraud.
