Urinary incontinence: from the general practitioner to the specialist

It is organized by the structures of Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Physiatry of the Foundation IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo the event to be held on Thursday 9 June 2022, starting at 19, in the headquarters of the Order of Doctors of Pavia, in Via Gaffurio 15.

The meeting is aimed at family doctors for increase knowledge and awareness of the management and treatment of urinary incontinence, with conservative and minimally invasive methods, both in men and women, the latter particularly exposed to this pathology. The urologist, gynecologist and physiatrist working in the San Matteo hospital collaborate in the management.

Incontinence is not just a disease, but a “condition” that can arise at any age; living with it is not easy, as it profoundly limits the quality of life and can become a crippling problem. It is the ultimate medical taboo and it is also estimated that over 36 million people are affected in Europe and 60% are women.
In Italy the phenomenon affects about 3 million women and 2 million men.
