vaccination campaigns underway

The Romagna Local Health Authority has launched a new vaccination campaign targeting specific adult population groups in an effort to boost vaccination rates and protect against various diseases.

Individuals born in 1958 are being encouraged to get vaccinated against Pneumococcus, while those born in 1959 are being advised to receive the Herpes Zoster (Shingles) vaccine. Additionally, girls between the ages of 18 and 25 who have not been vaccinated against HPV are urged to get vaccinated.

To access the vaccination clinics, individuals must book an appointment through Cup or Cup tel, with no doctor’s prescription required. According to health officials, these vaccinations are crucial in preventing serious infections and complications associated with these diseases.

The importance of these vaccinations is emphasized, with Pneumococcal infections leading to severe consequences such as pneumonia and meningitis. Herpes Zoster, commonly known as Shingles, can cause debilitating pain and complications at the nerve fiber level. Vaccination against the Papillomavirus is also recommended to prevent the development of lesions that may progress to tumor forms.

Residents are reminded to check their vaccination status on the Electronic Health Record and can inquire about the vaccination campaign by contacting [email protected]. Through these efforts, health officials hope to increase vaccination rates and improve public health in the region.
