Valencian Medical Students Organize 17th Health Fair in Valencia
Valencia, Spain – This Saturday, the Valencian medical students are hosting the 17th Health Fair at Plaza de la Virgen de València. The fair, coinciding with World Health Day, aims to educate the general population on various aspects of health. Activities such as learning about heart health, discovering blood type or blood sugar level, practicing resuscitation techniques, and dispelling myths about cancer or mental health are offered at over 30 tents set up by the students themselves.
The event has attracted hundreds of curious visitors, mainly tourists, since it began at 12 noon. Nearly 350 medical students have participated in organizing this edition of the fair. There is no age limit for participation, allowing students from any course to get involved. Aida Ramos, the vice president of the association, notes that the initiative is particularly popular among younger students who are excited about wearing a gown for the first time and interacting with people.
After 16 successful editions, students have honed in on activities that are most popular with visitors. The organization grants students the freedom to choose their activity offerings as long as they are accessible to all age groups. One visitor, 87-year-old Manel Llopis, shared his positive experience exploring the tent dedicated to sexuality, highlighting the importance of open dialogue about health topics.
