Two Deaths in Vicenza from A H1N1 Virus

In a tragic turn of events, Vicenza has recorded two deaths in a matter of days from the A H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu. The first victim, a 55-year-old patient, passed away on Sunday, January 7th. Just a day later, a 47-year-old patient who had been battling the illness in critical condition also succumbed to the disease.

In addition to the two deaths, three other patients, including a woman in very serious condition, are currently hospitalized in intensive care due to complications of the virus, such as pneumonia. Due to the severity of the situation, the Vicenza Local Health Authority has issued an urgent appeal for people to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

The A H1N1 virus, although contracted like the common flu, can be avoided with the flu vaccine. The local health authority is urging residents to take advantage of the widespread flu vaccine available this season in order to protect themselves and prevent further spread of the virus. This call to action comes as a way to prevent any more deaths and minimize the impact of the swine flu in the Vicenza region.
