For netizens who like to play with mobile phones, it is one of the headaches to constantly transfer WhatsApp. The website WABetaInfo found that WhatsApp is testing the new Companion Device feature, which we can regard as a backup phone feature. Users can register an additional backup phone in addition to the primary phone, and when the user logs in, WhatsApp messages will be automatically synced to the backup phone.
The website WABetaInfo indicates that the Companion Device function is currently being tested in the Android version of WhatsApp Beta v2.22.15.13. The synchronization process takes a certain amount of time, and the length depends on the number of users’ messages. When the user tries to log in to another WhatsApp account on the backup phone, the program will completely remove the previously synced message content for security and privacy.
At present, WhatsApp supports multi-device login, but at this stage, it only supports the web version and the computer. Users cannot log in and use two mobile phones at the same time. Although the new features fail to enable simultaneous login of multiple devices such as Messenger and Telegram, it is more convenient and flexible for users. It is not known when WhatsApp will launch the new features.
