At 8pm on June 2nd, 15 wild elephants that moved to the north passed through Laoguangqing Village, Chunhe Street, Hongta District, Yuxi City. After staying for an hour, they entered Shuanghe Township, Jinning District, Kunming City at 9:55 pm. Caoba.
On June 3, the Tianmu News reporter learned in Laoguangqing Village that before the elephant group entered the village, the local government made a response plan and organized 130 villagers to gather in two buildings to avoid danger. Therefore, the elephant group did not enter the village. Caused casualties.
According to the villagers, the elephants hunted for food in Laoguangqing Village, causing varying degrees of damage to the houses of three local villagers. One of them was eaten 400 catties of corn.
It is reported that the local township cadres have gone to the homes of the more seriously damaged farmers to provide sympathy and understanding, and to compensate the target group for the economic losses caused by them.
