Fatal accident on the border between Switzerland and Italy
A young 17-year-old mountaineer died in an accident this morning on Monte Polluce, on the Monte Rosa massif. The Air Zermatt helicopter rescue service intervened on the spot.
The accident that took place near the border between Switzerland and Itlaia was reconstructed by the police of the Canton of Valais.
The boy, of French nationality, had reached the summit together with another mountaineer. During the descent he lost his balance and fell for about 200 meters. The fall left him no way out.
