With the children’s emotional recitation, the new chapter activity of “Remembering the Story of Lei Feng and Passing Down the Volunteer Service” and “Welcome to the Sun and Start Again” in the new era of civilized practice volunteer service in Pudong Street officially kicked off.

At the event site, the children visited the “Learn from Lei Feng” educational base located in Lei Feng Park. A large number of photos, newspapers, books and other collections about Lei Feng allow children to have a more comprehensive understanding of Lei Feng’s deeds and comprehend Lei Feng’s spirit. Most of these exhibits come from the collection of the old man Liu Lixun, a community resident “Lei Feng fan”. Liu Lixun’s daughter-in-law, Jia Lu, also shared the story of the whole family learning from Lei Feng to do good deeds.

In recent years, Pudong Street has built a “Lei Feng District” where “everyone learns from Lei Feng, and everyone becomes Lei Feng” based on the needs of residents. It has built a civilized practice office, 23 civilized practice stations, as well as Lei Feng Park, Lei Feng Reading Room and “Learn from Lei Feng” education base, etc. Through the method of “whistle blowing from the territory and reporting to the department”, Pudong Street learned from Lei Feng’s volunteer service “Circle of Friends” and has developed 91 volunteer service teams with 12,761 volunteers.
