On the sidelines of the first government seminar of the year 2024 organized in Aného at the end of last week, the Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé made visits and planted a plant.

The Head of State “proceeded with the symbolic planting of a Baobab plant, a tree full of symbolic meaning and well known to the communities of our country”, we inform.

He then went to the Reading and Cultural Animation Center (CLAC) where he was able to appreciate the talent of certain young people playing chess.

The President of the Republic also visited the construction site of the Aného Multifunctional Youth Center. An infrastructure which is part of the related developments included in the framework of the Multifunctional Benin – Togo project, rehabilitation project of the Lomé – Cotonou road (phase 2) and coastal protection. It will allow local youth to carry out various entrepreneurial and sporting activities.

What to remember from the government seminar?

The work, in fact, consisted, among other things, of examining the current priority projects/programs/reforms; note the main achievements accomplished at this stage, and the notable successes by sector; analyze the challenges and obstacles encountered in the implementation of the roadmap; share good practices noted on certain projects and suggestions for mitigating the constraints encountered by other projects on the roadmap and propose solution approaches or adjustments to overcome the remaining obstacles.

At the heart of the discussions were new modes of State intervention in the agricultural sector, with lessons learned from the first year of activity of the agricultural transformation agency.
