FTF Executive Committee meeting: here are the major decisions taken

The Executive Committee of the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) met on Thursday March 7 under the leadership of its president Colonel Guy Kossi Akpovy. Here are the major decisions made public at the end of this session:

1-D2 Play-Off Calendar

The office approved the schedule for the play-off phase of the national second division championship for the 2023-2024 season with a kick-off scheduled for March 27, 2024.

2– Updated schedule for D1 LONATO

The office also updated the schedule for the return phase of the first division championship, D1 LONATO, which will resume on March 30, 2024.

3- Terms of the 2024 Independence Cup

Details of the 2024 Independence Cup have been approved. This competition will put into competition the clubs ranked in the first four places at the end of the first phase of the national first division championship for the 2023-2024 season.

4- Appointments of FTF advisors

With a view to strengthening the management structure, the office placed emphasis on the appointment of advisers and special advisers, in line with recent strategic orientations.

5- The U17 National Team

Finally, the office received the coach of the U17 national team, Maurice Noutsoudje who presented the report of the course held in Lomé, from February 18 to 24, 2024. He encouraged him to intensify his efforts to choose only young players deserving for future competitions.

FIFA Day: two test matches for the Éperviers

For the next FIFA day, the Togo Sparrowhawks will be on training in Morocco from March 18 to 26, 2024. This training will be punctuated by two friendly matches. The Togo national team will face Niger on March 22 and Libya on March 26. Both matches start from 9 p.m. UT

D1 Lonato: The FTF delivers the verdict in the AS OTR-ASCK case

The Disciplinary Commission of the Togolese Football Federation delivered the verdict in the case between AS OTR and ASCK last week. The facts date back to January 14, 2024 when AS OTR received ASCK on behalf of the 10th day of D1 Lonato. During the match, the OTR players refused to continue the match in the 62nd minute after contesting the decision of referee Arima Akakpo.

After analyzing the file, the disciplinary committee decides as follows:

AS OTR is ordered to pay a fine of six hundred thousand CFA francs (600,000 f) for violation of the laws of the game, violation of the principle of fair play, abandonment of a match in accordance with articles 16 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2, 12 paragraph 6 of the disciplinary code and 79 of the FTF national competition regulations.

Then, AS OTR loses the match by forfeit 3-0 in accordance with articles 16 paragraph 1 of the disciplinary code, 79 paragraph 1 of the FTF national competition regulations.

The ASCK is declared the beneficiary of the points corresponding to the winning of the match in accordance with articles 14 paragraph 1 of the disciplinary code 79 paragraph 1 of the FTF national competition regulations. The sanctioned AS OTR has ten days to appeal this decision.

Togo Cup 2024: the quarter-final matches have been played

The first and second legs of the quarter-finals of the 2024 Togo Cup were played last week with mixed fortunes for the teams in the race.
