ASUNCION (correspondent) A mother and her little daughter suffered a great scare this morning when the car in which they were traveling was consumed by flames. The fire broke out on Costanera Avenue in Asunción and both were unharmed before the fire took over the entire vehicle.
After 6:30 this Friday, a car was consumed by flames on Costanera José Asunción Flores Avenue, upon reaching the central area of Asunción. Inside were the driver and her little daughter, but they both managed to get out in time before the fire completely took over their vehicle.
The young mother, Jessica Vergara, said that they were on their way to school and work when their car suddenly stopped. “First the dashboards went out, all the doors were blocked and then it started to smoke, that’s when I took my daughter and my things out. In the second everything was already on fire,” she told ABC TV.
He explained that he managed to locate his car on the side of the avenue and other people tried to put out the fire with the fire extinguisher, but they were unable to do so.
Finally, firefighters from the National Police arrived and controlled the fire shortly before 7:00. The burned vehicle is a 2014 Hyundai Eon.
