July 7 is the 84th anniversary of the outbreak of the National War of Resistance against Japan. The theme is “Unforgettable alarm bells ringing for the nation’s death”-the ceremony of ringing the bell of peace was held at the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders.
At the scene, there were 12 people including descendants of Nanjing Massacre survivors, ideological and political teachers, Zijincao volunteers, reporters, police, doctors, representatives of college students, representatives of primary and middle school students, and representatives of the audience, and 13 people rang the peace bell. The bells of peace echoed for a long time in the Gongji Square.
The Xinhua Daily • Meeting Point reporter learned that starting from September 18, 2018, in order to further broaden the ritual education, the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Invaders began to carry out a bell-ringing mourning ceremony. The first batch of visitors were invited to visit the museum. The 12 representatives of the audience rang the bell of peace 13 together, meaning the memory of the 300,000 victims and the prayer for peace. From this day, the bell will ring every day. As of today, it has been held 798 times, with a total of 9576 people participating, and 10,374 bangs. The surrounding residents call it “the bell of Jiangdongmen.”
The bell rang punctually every day, and rang both online and offline. Even though the offline bell ringing ceremony was suspended under the influence of the epidemic, the bell ringing ceremony online at the memorial hall (official Weibo) has never been suspended. Some spectators came to the memorial hall in advance to wait for the ceremony to start in the sweltering heat, and some spectators drove from other places to experience this solemn ceremony. After attending the bell-strike ceremony, the audience left a message saying that it was full of the ceremony. The bell-struck ritual of feeling makes the soul a wash.
