A man was shot to death inside an ambulance on the Corinto – Padilla road.
The violent event occurred when armed men stopped the ambulance that was going to respond to a call for a traffic accident.
Captain Arbey Hernán Trujillo Mendaz, representing the National Fire Department of Colombia, expressed his deep indignation through an official statement. The unfortunate episode took place during an emergency intervention in the department of Cauca, specifically on the Corinto-Padilla road, on January 7.

At approximately 8:50 pm, the M6 ambulance, with 4 crew members on board, responded to an accident call on the Corinto-Padilla road. At the scene, they found a person injured by a firearm. During the transfer to the local hospital, armed individuals boarded the ambulance, intimidating our units and shooting at the patient.

This atrocious act not only threatens the integrity of our brave firefighters, but also highlights the vulnerability of those who fulfill the noble mission of assisting those in need. We strongly reject any form of violence directed towards medical mission vehicles and members of Firefighters Colombia.
