CASTELFIDARDO. A dramatic accident, with a fatal outcome, characterized the final of the Trofeo Comune di Castelfidardo (Ancona), a cyclist race held in the Marche region. In fact, about 300 meters from the finish line banner, the violent collision involving the 23-year-old Friulian rider Nicola Venchiarutti of the Work Service occurred: the cyclist from Osoppo, after touching an opponent during the sprint, lost control of the bike and came out of the road, fully investing Stefano Martolini, sports director of Viris Vigevano, who was positioned on the sidewalk to watch the sprint. The man, following the very serious traumas reported, then died.
