The initiative organized by Soroptimist is back in Belluno. The importance of cardiovascular prevention emphasized

BELLUNO. More than 300 people took part in the Walk of the Heart of Belluno. The pedestrian walk, organized by the Soroptimist International club Belluno, was a non-competitive event aimed at joining the national project “Talking about the heart – Gender medicine”. The goal is to raise awareness among the population on the incidence of cardiovascular diseases and on new eating disorders.

Yesterday morning, families of athletes, a large group of women, parents with children and athletes of various kinds came together for this appointment. The point of departure and arrival was the San Lorenzo park. We followed a five-kilometer long route that wound through the upper part of Belluno, crossing the Park of Villa Morasutti (which for the occasion was opened by the owners) and then move on to the Park of Villa Clizia di Mussoi (arranged with of the National Soroptimist after Hurricane Vaia). The runners then went back to Fisterre, passed through Vezzano and via Travazzoi and then returned to the San Lorenzo Park. Along the way, the volunteers of the Ana Belluno and of the Carabinieri on leave.

Nadia Della Vecchia, president of Soroptimist Belluno, explains the spirit of the event: «This walk was born from the idea of helping Ukrainian women who have arrived in Belluno. We always try to organize events where we collect money which, like this case, will be donated to help women. The idea came to us when on social media we saw the mayor who had received the Ukrainian refugees who were then housed in the former Belluno fire station. On this occasion, the mayor invited the population to help; we, like Soroptimist, are very sensitive to these issues and we immediately moved ». The proceeds will be donated to Ukrainian women.

It is good to know how to work from childhood and to teach how to behave in order to be well. We have to check ourselves in daily life, in what we eat and how we move ».
