CIMOLAIS. A 1994 rock climber residing in Cordenons fell during a climb on Croda Cimoliana on the afternoon of Saturday 4 June, around 2pm. of consortium, to which he was linked.
In the fall, the rope tore off one of the protections that the mountaineer had placed from the wall to reduce the so-called “fall factor”.

The consortium was traveling along via Gherbaz Candot to the west face of Croda Cimoliana and was about halfway up the face when the fall occurred (the causes are unknown at the moment). Nue112 was called by the members of the consortium that preceded them along the same route and which descended to the point where the young man stopped, to bring him first aid and comfort.
The Valcellina Alpine Rescue station was operational on site in support of the regional helicopter rescue, which moved up to the top, leaving two rescuers at the Perugini bivouac as a possible reinforcement.
The helicopter rescue technician was hoisted directly into the wall and from there he recovered the injured man, who was always conscious to take him to Perugini where he was placed on the spinal stretcher and stabilized by the on-board team doctor to be flown to the hospital. of Udine.
The other rescuers remained at the bivouac to await the descent of the climbing partners who chose to descend independently. The recovery of the injured ended shortly after 3.30 pm.
