ADRES transferred $6.51 billion in March to finance health services in Colombia

The Administration of the Resources of the General Health Social Security System (ADRES) announced that in March 2024 a total of $6.51 billion was transferred to the Health Promotion Entities (EPS), Health Providing Institutions (IPS) and other health care providers. health services and technologies in Colombia.

These funds are intended to finance the provision of health services for members of the contributory and subsidized regimes.

The transfers were made mainly for the Payment Unit by Capitation (UPC), an annual value that is recognized by each member of the general social security health system to cover the benefits of the Mandatory Health Plan (POS).

For the contributory regime, a total of $3.13 billion was transferred, of which $2.99 ​​billion corresponded to UPC, $110,504 million for disabilities due to general illness and $36,174 million for health promotion and disease prevention activities.

Of these funds, $201,123 million were allocated directly to 972 IPS and providers of health services and technologies, on behalf of several EPS, including Famisanar, Savia Salud, Capresoca, Emssanar, Asmetsalud and Western Health Service.

For the subsidized regime, a direct transfer of $3.38 billion was madedistributed among the EPS and IPS and providers of health services and technologies authorized by them.

The accumulated transfers made by the ADRES between January and March 2024 amount to $20.61 billionwith a notable increase compared to March 2023. The recognition of contributory and subsidized regimes increased by 7.61% and 14.82% respectively, while the recognition of maternity and paternity leaves increased by 54.08%.
