by admin

The Agency for Digital Italy joins the national campaign for energy saving and against global warming “I light up less”, created by the Caterpillar program on Rai Radio2.

The initiative, born in 2005, takes place every year on February 16, and has become since 2022 – with a unanimous vote of Parliament – the “National Day of Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles”.

With the aim of promoting the culture of energy and resource saving, the campaign invites people to rationally reduce consumption, creating symbolic actions of energy silence and rethinking their lifestyles in a sustainable way.

Awareness actions

To celebrate the day, the Agency for Digital Italy organized various initiatives and symbolic awareness-raising actions.

Friday 16 Februarystarting from 6.00 pm and until 9.00 pm, in agreement with the ITA Agency of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, the lights of the installation will be turned off “Italian solo”, a work by the architect and designer Massimo Iosa Ghini dedicated to Italian excellence and located in the area in front of the headquarters that houses the two agencies located in Rome in via Liszt.

Furthermore, during the day AgID will implement awareness-raising actions aimed at promoting the culture of energy and resource saving. Among these, the sharing of “Decalogue of the eco-sustainable employee”, a series of behaviors or activities that anyone can put into practice as a form of participation in the campaign.

The Decalogue will be shared and distributed to employees on February 16th and includes actions that contribute to the reduction of energy consumption. Some indications concern, for example: using the stairs instead of the lift, turning off the lights when not necessary, being careful not to leave electronic devices on standby when leaving the office, using the bicycle to go to work (bike to work) or sharing your own means of transport with those making the same journey (car-pooling).

The Agency for Digital Italy has joined the “Energy Redevelopment Program of the Central Public Administration” (PREPAC), with the project proposal presented in 2018 together with the ITA Agency, ranking 9th in the PREPAC 2018 ranking (approved in 2019), falling within the parameters that provided for the first 10 positions to be called “project exemplary” and the consequent priority in financing the interventions.

The program includes structural redevelopment interventions, such as the renewal of the lighting systems of the entire structure, the installation of mechanical ventilation systems, photovoltaic systems and BACS (Building Automation and Control System) systems.

By joining “M’illumino di meno”, AgID confirms its commitment to sustainable development, the energy efficiency of its structures and the reduction of environmental impact.
