Two months have passed since the start of the school calendar in Colombia, and thousands of children across the country are still waiting for a plate of food from the School Feeding Program (PAE). This situation, denounced by the Attorney General’s Office, puts the food and well-being of thousands of students at risk, especially those from vulnerable families.
The report from the Food to Learn Unit (UApA) reveals a worrying panorama. Departments like Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Meta and Sucre, along with municipalities such as Girardot (Cundinamarca) and Sincelejo, report delays in the implementation of the PAE. In total, it is estimated that more than 70,000 children are affected by these setbacks.
