Dairo Antonio Úsuga, alias ‘Otoniel’, who was the top leader of the Gulf Clan and who has been imprisoned in the United States since he was extradited in 2022, revealed his relationship with the public force to execute civilians, cases known as false positives, in the central Colombian department of Meta.
This was reported this Thursday by the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), which detailed in a statement that ‘Otoniel’ provided “relevant information on joint operations to commit murders and forced disappearances that were presented as alleged casualties in combat by members of the force.” public in Meta”.
He also spoke, for three days, about “his participation in the victimization against members of the (leftist) Patriotic Union party.”

The former head of the Clan del Golfo, the main criminal gang in the country, spoke in the last three days with judges Alejandro Ramelli and Gustavo Salazar, from the JEP Recognition Room, in the maximum security penitentiary ‘ADX’ or ‘Supermax ‘, from the American city of Florence, in the state of Colorado.
Otoniel, the information added, “indicated links between members of the public force, of politicians at the national and regional level, and of third-party civilians with armed groups to which he belonged”, which are the guerrilla of the Popular Liberation Army (EPL), the paramilitary United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) and the Clan del Golfo.
