This year’s March 5th is the 59th “Learning from Lei Feng Memorial Day” and the 23rd China Youth Volunteer Service Day. In order to vigorously carry forward the volunteer service spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress”, and effectively promote the socialization and normalization of volunteer service activities of learning from Lei Feng, the communities in the Economic Development Zone actively organized and carried out the theme activities of “Lei Feng Month”.
Mingxin Community – Helping Anti-epidemic • Meijiayuan strives to be a volunteer activity of Lei Feng in the new era
On March 5th, Mingxin Community organized youths under its jurisdiction to carry out volunteer activities to help fight the epidemic and strive to become Lei Feng in the new era. This volunteer service activity of learning from Lei Feng is based on the participation of youth in social practice.
After the launch of the Mingxin Community Learning Lei Feng Volunteer Service Activity, the community leader issued honorary certificates to the selfless and fearless volunteers in the anti-epidemic work, and issued an initiative, hoping that young friends will take this as an example and pass on practical actions. And carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng, practice new ideas, and embrace the new era. Afterwards, each volunteer service team went to each post to carry out themed activities. Volunteers from the “Helping Anti-epidemic” team took temperature measurements with thermometers, reminded residents to wear masks, and actively scan the code; young volunteers from the “Propaganda Garbage Sorting” team They handed out leaflets to residents and explained the knowledge of garbage classification; volunteers of the “Cleaning the Environment” team scrubbed fitness equipment, children’s entertainment facilities, and picked up garbage. “Volunteer Red” shuttled through all corners of Mingnengyuan Community, and laughter surrounded the entire community… After the event, the community issued honorary certificates to outstanding young people.
Jiajia Community – A series of activities to bring warmth to the spring and learn from Lei Feng
On March 5, Jiajia Community held a series of volunteer service activities with the theme of learning from Lei Feng.
The community carried out six major themed activities: “Fengcheng Hospital Free Clinic”, “Law Publicity”, “Home Care for the Elderly”, “Vaccination Strengthening Needle Promotion”, and “The Most Beautiful Volunteer Issue Certificate of Honor”. At the event site, 11 medical staff from Fengcheng Hospital patiently answered questions raised by residents, provided residents with health consultation, measured blood pressure and blood sugar free of charge, and distributed health promotion materials; community police officer Zhao distributed more than 200 legal publicity materials to residents. He also explained the relevant legal knowledge on preventing telecommunication network fraud and combating trafficking in women and children; community workers and volunteers visited old heroes of the Anti-Japanese War to help them clean up, so that the elderly can feel the care and warmth of society; community leaders and staff passed The combination of online and offline methods encourages residents to take the initiative to vaccinate and provide better protection for residents in the jurisdiction; during the epidemic prevention and control period, due to the efforts and services of volunteers regardless of the day, the living problems of residents have been properly solved. Therefore, they were awarded the “Most Beautiful” Volunteer Certificate of Honor.
Guojin Huafu Community – Inheriting Lei Feng’s Spirit and Caring for the Elderly in the Community
In March, the spring breeze of learning from a good example quietly blew through every corner of the community. Guojin Huafu Community actively organized and carried out the activity of “Inheriting Lei Feng Spirit and Caring for the Elderly in the Community” on March 4th.
Community volunteers came to the homes of Uncle Tao and old party members Uncle Cao and his wife, had a cordial conversation with them, learned about their living conditions and physical conditions, and sent condolences at the same time. During the chat, everyone sat around and listened to the old party members recalling the glorious days of the revolutionary period, and watching the heavy medals of the old party members, everyone was encouraged. In the future, I will definitely learn from and emulate the old party members with humility, pass on their good traditions and good work styles, and integrate their spirits into their daily study and work. Before leaving, the community volunteers left a convenient contact number for the elderly, telling the elderly to contact them in time if they have difficulties, and the community will try their best to help them solve their problems.
