AMALFI – Meeting on Friday in Amalfi between the mayor Daniele Milano and the representatives of the rental service for driver (NCC) and discuss the 10 euro tax for a 5-minute stop imposed by the municipality leader of the Divina. Roberto D’Angelo of the Air Committee, Fabio Petrella for Fia Confindustria and the vice-president of the NCC Campania Employee Committee Stanislao Borriello took part in the meeting who discussed with the mayor of Milan and the commander of the Municipal Police Agnese Martingano about possible solutions to that which could turn into a problem that risks slowing down and influencing the arrival of tourists. The resolution that regulates the payment for the parking of NCCs to pick up and drop off customers from the car was approved in September 2019 and came into force in November of the same year.
The same would create, according to D’Angelo “a discrimination between ours and the category of taxis.” “It is unacceptable to pay 10 euros for a 5-minute stop to pick up or drop off passengers – adds Petrella – as it is a non-scheduled public service, we would be entitled to it”. In this sense, the mayor said he was willing to find possible alternative solutions as long as these allow to reach the final goal, the same for which the payment was imposed, that is to precisely regulate the entrances into the lead country of the Divina . The representatives of the NCC have specified that they do not intend to ask for any stamp or suspension of the resolution, much less a postponement to next year, because in this way the problem would be postponed. To try to resolve the issue, according to the operators, it would be necessary to create a loading and unloading area for passengers free of charge for everyone and not only for the means that carried out transfers to hotels, which do not have to pay 10 euros to stop. .
Another step required by the NCC would be the creation of a parking area at a reduced rate, in order to avoid that «in addition to the damage of paying for loading / unloading, we could also suffer the insult of being fined for a parking ban. To be clear we would also be willing to pay, but to have a service, such as parking, in any area that the municipality would indicate to us », clarifies D’Angelo. The mayor, as promised from the beginning of this story, has listened carefully to the requests of the operators and now, together with his collaborators, he will seek the best solution to the issue net of the serious problem of limited spaces. «We have pointed out – conclude the representatives of the NCC that we would need about 30/35 seats and they would be in rotation and in any case the greatest blockage would be in the morning slot. Hoping that common sense prevails, we are confident that Milan can accept our requests, thanking it for the openness shown towards our category in seeking a common solution ».
