As new co-presidents of the Green Alliance Party, the current National Director, Rodrigo Romero Hernández, and the former Governor of Boyacá, Carlos Amaya, were elected during the National Directorate.
The co-founder of the Green Alliance Party, Romero Hernández and former congressman Amaya Rodríguez will form the new quartet along with Antonio Navarro Wolff and Antanas Mockus. This new political fact arises after the departure of the co-president of the collective Carlos Ramón González, who currently leads the direction of the Dapre (Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic).
The new collegiate co-presidency of the Green will be quintuple with the election of a woman, a name that will be discussed and voted on in the next National Directorate.
After the decision, the new co-president Rodrigo Romero Hernández expressed: “Our history has taught us that we are capable of leading the Party with honor. Today consensus must prevail and to continue maintaining unity I ask that we unanimously name Carlos Amaya also as co-chairman of the Green Alliance Party, so that we can share this co-chairmanship with greatness. We are in the best moment of the Green, we have great responsibilities and challenges”.
Carlos Amaya had dreamed of running for mayor of Bogotá in this year’s elections. This would be ruled out after his appointment in the direction of the greens.
