The Iraqi ship “Baghdad” arrived in the Palestinian territories, carrying 10 million liters of fuel in support of the Palestinian people.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Baghdad ship arrived in the Palestinian territories in Gaza, loaded with 10 million liters of fuel through the meeting point (the Egyptian Suez Canal).
The Iraqi agency added, quoting its correspondent, that “the delivery process took place in the presence of the head of the Red Crescent Society, Sattar Al-Jabri, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce.”
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, had previously announced the departure of an Iraqi ship loaded with 10 million liters of gas for the besieged Gaza Strip through international waters towards the Sinai sea port.
Rasoul said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Under the guidance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and through the decision of the Council of Ministers, an Iraqi ship loaded with 10 million liters of gas was launched via the national carrier through international waters towards the port of Sinai. Al-Bahri, pointing out that “this amount of fuel is intended for our people who are besieged in the Gaza Strip.”
He added, “The procedures and coordination have been completed at a high level with the Egyptian authorities,” explaining that “the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has continued to support our besieged people in the Gaza Strip.”
He pointed out that “this work came about through concerted efforts through the Committee for Receiving and Operating Donations to the Gaza Strip, represented by the Prime Minister’s Advisor, Zidane Al-Atwani, and the membership of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the Red Crescent, the Iraqi Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Popular Mobilization Forces.”
He stressed that “the directive continues to support the Gaza Strip, and there is high coordination taking place through the Iraqi Red Crescent to deliver relief and medical materials, and through this ship loaded with fuel to the Egyptian Red Crescent, and then coordination with the Palestinian Red Crescent.”
