School Violence Incidents Continue to Plague China: Brutal Attack in Handan City, Hebei Province

A recent violent incident involving students in Handan City, Hebei Province has once again highlighted the issue of school violence and bullying in China. The attacker in this case claimed that his grandfather was a county magistrate and his father was a cadre, adding a disturbing twist to the already troubling situation.

According to a comprehensive report by Epoch Times reporter Li Jing, the incident occurred on March 18 when Mr. Li, a parent from Handan, went to the Public Security Bureau to demand justice for his son Xiaokang. Xiaokang had been repeatedly harassed and bullied by a classmate named Zhuang, culminating in a brutal attack that left him with serious injuries.

Mr. Li detailed how Xiaokang had been subjected to constant harassment and abuse by Zhuang, including tearing up textbooks, grabbing snacks, and giving insulting nicknames. Despite reporting the abuse to teachers, Xiaokang’s pleas for help went unanswered. The situation escalated when Zhuang physically assaulted Xiaokang, causing severe damage to his testicles that required surgery.

Despite providing multiple diagnostic reports and evidence of the abuse, Mr. Li explained that the authorities failed to hold Zhuang accountable for his actions. Even after the incident, Zhuang continued to taunt Xiaokang with claims of privilege due to his family background.

This incident in Handan City comes on the heels of a disturbing case in which a 13-year-old junior high school student was brutally murdered by three classmates. The shocking nature of the crime has sparked national outrage and raised concerns about the prevalence of school violence in China.

As more incidents of school violence and bullying come to light across the country, questions are being raised about the root causes of such behavior. Some critics point to the indoctrination and control of education by the Chinese Communist Party, which has led to a culture of fear and intimidation in schools.

With the rise in school violence incidents, parents and advocacy groups are calling for greater accountability and action to protect students from harm. The case in Handan City serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the issue of school violence and ensure the safety and well-being of students across China.
