Apple TV+ surprises with funny advertising – giant cat looks out of Las Vegas Sphere | News

Fri, 6:08 p.m. · Apple TV · meLas Vegas is a crazy place and the “Las Vegas Sphere” is no less crazy. A huge LED display stretches across both the outside and inside of the large event hall in the middle of the city. All too often, the huge screen is used for advertising purposes and Apple apparently doesn’t shy away from using it to promote special content from its streaming offering. That’s what happened a few days ago, when the dome lit up the city’s night as a kind of giant bubble.

Perhaps the biggest cat meme yet?
In this bubble sat none other than Alfie, the cat of the protagonists from Apple’s latest, action-packed spy comedy called “Argylle”, which will initially appear on cinema screens from February 2nd in collaboration with Universal Pictures. The unusual sight of the cat enclosed in a bubble plays into the film’s content: it follows the adventurer and world traveler Argylle, who travels across different parts of the USA with his cat in his luggage and earns his living as a super spy. In the main role, alongside Alfie – who spends most of her time in a bubble backpack – is the British Superman actor Henry Cavill. But Bryan Cranston and Samuel L. Jackson also ensure a lot of notoriety among the cast.

Apple acknowledges the author
What is unusual, however, is that the title story is a book written by a first-time author. Elly Conway, essentially a blank slate in the film scene, is responsible for the story material, which Matthew Vaughn converted into a screenplay. Even now, after the first trailer was published, the relatively young author enjoys great respect among the fan community – which she owes not least to Apple’s aggressive marketing strategy. Cupertino usually relies on well-known names, but they obviously see a lot of potential here. Last year, the Californian company decided to let the huge advertising space shine for all U2 fans in view of the band’s tour. The iPhone company drew attention to the guest tour in a short video.
