The city of Xiamen in the province said on the 17th that it had initiated the second round of nucleic acid testing for all employees in the epidemic.

On September 17, the Fujian Provincial Epidemic Prevention and Control Press Conference reported that as of 24:00 on the 16th, a total of 140,865 people who had flowed out of the province where the epidemic occurred were detected in Fujian Province. They are currently in centralized isolation and home isolation.

At present, most of the positive patients reported in the province are close contacts, sub-close contacts, and patients within the enclosed area.

However, the notification did not disclose the specific flow of these outflows, including which provinces, specific locations, and when they flowed out.

On the 17th, a press conference on the epidemic in Xiamen, Fujian Province reported that Xiamen City has decided to start the second round of nucleic acid testing for all employees, which will be carried out in different regions.

The notification also stated that from 16:00 on the 16th to 24:00 on the 16th, there were 18 new confirmed cases in Xiamen City; as of 24:00 on the 16th, the city had a total of 84 confirmed cases.

The aforementioned notification stated that from September 17, 2021, two existing areas in the city are classified as high-risk areas. The previously delineated high-risk areas (east of Huli Industrial Park, Xinmin Town, Tong’an District, west of Tongming Road, south of Ji’an Road, and north of Jixian Road) will be expanded to: Wutu Community, Xinmin Town, Tong’an District; Tong’an District Xitang Community, Xinmin Town.

In addition, the Huli District of Xiamen City issued a notice on the 17th that all property communities, non-property communities, and urban villages in the entire district implement stricter closed-loop control of access: all personnel and vehicles entering the community are checked on a person-by-vehicle basis. Entry is allowed only if required by prevention and control; chess and card rooms, movie theaters, Internet cafes, karaoke halls, bars, billiards halls, museums, libraries, fitness venues, training institutions and other related indoor public places that are temporarily closed must be closed.

The Siming District of Xiamen City issued a notice on the 16th to require the Fumanjiayuan Community (No. 60-72, Bailuzhou Road) to be designated as a controlled area, of which No. 66 Bailuzhou Road was designated as a closed control area.

Residents in enclosed areas can only enter and cannot leave, and residents of non-local areas are not allowed to enter. During the closed management period, residents will not visit, gather, or go out without special circumstances. Except for special vehicles such as military and police vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, vaccination vehicles and special vehicles for people’s livelihood, all foreign vehicles are not allowed to enter the closed area.
